Really Silly questions about applying, but I'm confused

<p>Okay, so I’m an international student and I have never considered applying online so far because my counselor advised me so. However, I read that Stanford accepts only online applications, so please help me understand exactly how this online application works.</p>

<ol>
<li><p>Common Application/ Supplement/ etc - Do I have to use some kind of pdf editor to fill in all the blanks or do I download it, complete it by hand and then scan it again?</p></li>
<li><p>Recommendation s- Should I ask my teachers to write them by hand and then scan them, or directly on the computer? Remember that being an international student, my counselor has to translate the recommendations and sign them so they will have to be in paper form at some point anyway.</p></li>
<li><p>I really cannot afford to pay $90, so precisely how does the fee waiver thing work? The financial aid deadline is different, do I have to submit the financial aid papers now if I want to be eligible for fee waiver? I intend to apply Early Action.</p></li>
