i have question guys. i have a 3.833 as a freshman right now. does this mean i cant get into harvard? and what else should i do to be unique from other people when applications come

An unweighted 3.883 GPA (out of 4.0) is a 97. So, why are you even asking such a self-answerable question? Congratulations . . . and keep up the hard work for the next 2 years!

i want to be a doctor, do u have any tips that will make me unique from the other people applying to any ivy

Looking through your 25 posts, I see you’ve been asking the same question on the Columbia forum.

My advice to you: Spend the summer researching each Ivy League School, as they are all different. To wit: Although Columbia and Harvard compete in the same athletic conference, they have entirely different curriculums. All students at Columbia, regardless of major, take the same basic set of ‘core’ courses the first two years of school – [The Classes | The Core Curriculum](The Classes | The Core Curriculum). It’s very much like high school; students either love or hate the core. And if they love Columbia’s core, they don’t really like Harvard’s general education requirements and vice-versa. See: [Courses Program in General Education](http://www.generaleducation.fas.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do?keyword=k37826&tabgroupid=icb.tabgroup92169)

So, spend the summer having fun, researching schools and come back to CC in September with a better idea of what you want.

ok thanks alot! do you have any tips though? like helpful tips not bs tips lol

I really want my doctor to be named rackcity…

No, and as a freshman when you keep asking for tips you look like a ■■■■■. Hence, the bioguy’s comment!

Maybe he wants to be a plastic surgeon?
But in all seriousness, a 3.833 is great Freshman Year. I am junior and finished my Freshman year with a 4.0 and my Counselor said that it was more than enough. However, do not only consider grades. Take other things into account, like sports, hobbies and extracurricular activities. It will go a long way!
