reapplication after college medical leave

When someone is applying to re-enter one’s own college after being out on involuntary medical leave will the evaluation be based simply on doctors letters --or would deans call any other program the student has been involved in for further input, transcripts, professor reports etc? What is protocol here --what is typically done-- just the therapist and doctor, or a wider net of input.
Thanks

When you say involuntary medical leave, do you mean that the student was asked to leave by the college because of mental health concerns?

yes. So I am assuming in this case they are going to be primarily interested in what the psychiatrist and psychologist have to say? Reports from professors etc would not be relevant, especially if the student has a transcript of the work? In the scheme of people they will want to talk to about the student, the medical professionals are what they likely want.

The school asked the student to leave because he/she was a liability. As long as he/she is medically cleared by several professionals and then maybe by one approved by the college, it should be OK.

The school is more concerned with the student’s personal well-being than his/her academic work at this point.

But I’d phone the school and find out what the terms of the leave were.
