Reapplying to college where I withdraw my application last year

So, I really wanted to know if it’s a bad idea to reapply to college that I previously reapplied to and withdrawn the application?

No. Go ahead an reapply. Colleges understand that students are applying during a period of big growth and change in their lives. It just took you longer to figure out what you wanted. No harm or foul.

Note: if the college rejected you the first time, it isn’t worth re-applying unless you have something significantly different to offer this time around. If you withdrew your application, however, that’s different.

My d had to transfer out of her school and reapplied to several that she applied to last year. Additionally, each one gave her the same merit award she had received last year.

taverngirl and #groundwork2020 thank you for your suggestion guys. I really wanted to a college last year but could not complete my application due to some problems. I had to withdraw my application. Now I guess I will be applying for fall 2020.

A lot depends on how you withdrew, what reason you gave, and the timing. They may assume you were less committed to this school than they want.

And now that you’ve had almost a year, they’ll want a very strong match. Do you know what that is, all of it, for this target?

lookingforward, I was pretty much sure about not attending the college last year( which is this fall session) but anyhow I sent my part 1 of the application. We were having some sort of problems back then. So I said the college that I will not be attending the college this year. Since that was my dream university, I said to them that this college is my dream college and I will be applying for fall 2020.

Lookingforward thank you so much for your time. Well, I have worked a lot on my application( in fact still working) for fall 2020, and I hope I will be a good match for that university.
