Reasons I have not yet submitted my SIR

Hello everyone,

I am an accepted transfer student who is eager to submit my SIR, register and enroll in the Transfer Edge summer program to help get into necessary courses.

However, I have not yet done so because Berkeley has not provided me with my updated Gift-Aid amount, since they are having issues with their systems.

I received satisfactory financial aid offers from UCLA, UCSB, and UCI.

Would it be fair to assume that my Gift-Aid amount from Berkeley is going to be very similar to the amount offered by the three other above mentioned UC’s?

Should I SIR as soon as possible to assure my best odds of getting the courses I want for this summer? (The sooner I SIR the sooner I can enroll in classes for this summer)

Any other thoughts on this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I know that Berkeley will only give around 75% max aid to EFC 0, so people with EFC 0 are expected to find the other 25% through work study and loans.

From what I heard, people (freshman admits) who were accepted both to UCLA and UCB have totally different financial aid package. For UCLA, some received a full ride, while UCB only provided 75% of their cost. So I assume, you may try to take 75% of what UCLA is currently giving you right now. However, take living condition as a factor, since if you’re living in dorms vs with your parents, the gift aid might be different :P!

^ Only my guess, not 100% sure though.
