I have a feeling, always there in the background, that is hard to describe. Whenever I’m sad, I fall back on it, and when I’m happy, it’s like the dial is turned up on the feeling. It’s sort of a sense that I’m unbelievably lucky. It’s hard to waste time, because it feels like I’m betraying myself. I want to spend every second thinking and looking and experiencing so that I’ll have as much as I can done when I’m done. The only really scary thing is not death, but regret. If I can look back, while I’m lying on my deathbed, and say that I led a good life… then it’ll all be worth it. Everything else is secondary. That feeling, and that future, are what drive me forward.
