Reasons to reject"Top Applicant".

I got numerous emails for the Jacobs school of engineering saying I was a top applicant. “Top 2000 applicants”, but was rejected. Does anyone know why admissions would reject someone they call a “top applicant”?

Yo, for you I’m sad,
But don’t be mad.
The process is dumb,
Maybe they have Tufts Syndrome.

^
Yo that rap is pretty dope
Sure, gave me some hope
Homie rep it all the way
At the end of this we’ll be yellin hooray

That really sucks, OP. I also received those emails, and I took them as a sign of future acceptance. I was accepted. If I wasn’t accepted, I would have been really confused… I can’t believe they would do that!

Honestly, in my experience I learned its better not to question these things. When I applied to colleges a couple years ago, I got into Cal, rejected from LA, got into SD, rejected from Irvine, got into Davis, and got rejected by SB.

If you want, you can call the admissions office and find out your point total and the point cutoff to get in. Also, you can find out about the appeals process if you really want to try to get in

I am new here, and I was wondering… what do you mean by “cal”, is it caltech? thanks~~

Cal is UC Berkeley.
