Rebutting Rejections

I’m just curious as to how many of you have heard stories of applicants who have sent rebuttals in response to their rejection (successfully, of course). We’d all prefer accounts of close friends, etc. Not just BS rumors. And a follow-up: how many of you are prepared to rebutt a rejection, and how would you go about writing one?

I have a friend that questioned his Princeton rejected. They told him that he was “too well rounded” and that that wasn’t quite the space that they were needing to feel. He didn’t get in though.

^Lol I’m too well-rounded.

After about 4 misspent years of following CC, I recall having heard of 2. One was a LAC where the college (probably) thought it was being used as a safety. The kid’s GC called them, explained that he did want to (and would attend) and the decision was reversed. Kid was a full-pay (this is probably an important point).

The other was a case where there was records mixup of some sort with, I believe, a public Uni. Again, the GC sorted it out. In this case, it was a very numbers oriented admission - the kid should have been in by the numbers.
