“Thank you for your reply. You are currently short 3 UC transferable semester units from being eligible to transfer to a UC. We may be able to still consider you for fall 2015 admission if you are able to add a UC transferable course worth at least 3 semester units.”
My transcript says UNITS COMPLETED: 50 (+ 12 more by the end of the semester = 62 Units total)
I’m trying to figure out why I’m short three units. The only thing I can think of is that the Intermediate Algebra class I took is not transferrable to a UC. Is this the issue?
I’m really upset because if I had realized this earlier I would have 1) Taken a course over the winter or 2) Enrolled in one more class at the beginning of the semester.
Intermediate Algebra isn’t transferable. You can try to find a local CC that may have not started yet or have late start classes.
SMC has some classes that start in two weeks:
http://www2.smc.edu/schedules/2015/spring/
You need 60 UC transferable units to be eligible.
You may be allowed to take a class during the summer.
Int algebra is not transferable. Grab an online course. Go to www.cvc.edu. You will need the 60 transferable by end of spring.
It was nice of them to let you know.
Since you didn’t know your math class wasn’t transferable, you didn’t put a planned math class in your TAU. Hence their email.
I know of a transfer student that completed 60 units by the end of the summer prior to Fall entrance. She had stated on the TAU that her plan was to take a course during the summer.
She received a conditional admission contract that required her to send proof of enrollment in the class.
So taking a summer class is possible but you should check with admissions and ask them if they’ll consider it for this application.
It sounds like OP has the math because they didn’t mention that. They merely said he was short 3 units. Of course, if he’s missing the math req that’s a whole other thing.
I’ve never heard of anyone getting in with under 60 units by end of spring, but who knows? Maybe.
Hey guys, thank you for all the responses - I’m done with my english req, will be done with math req by spring. I was merely missing 3 units & was able to add it on to my schedule/update my UC application.
Now I’m worried if this “last minute add” will hurt my chances of getting in!
will be done with math req by the end of spring semester***
Is it the math the quantitative reasoning, because they usually want it done before last semester. Luckily you appear to have a letter grade for int algebra.
