Recieved BruinCard but cannot Activate it

My orientation starts next week
I received my BruinCard today but cannot activate it, due to the message:
Your BruinCard cannot be activated by this process due to missing information. Please contact the BruinCard office for further assistance at 310-825-2336 or BruinCard@finance.ucla.edu
I called them and they said that I should be able to activate it online.
If not, come to the office and activate it there.

Does anyone have the same problem?

I figured the problem.
https://secure.bruincard.ucla.edu/bcactivate/presentation/bruincarduserinfo.aspx

After activating, enter the information again to just test if it is activated.

I have the same problem. Your link doesn’t work though.
How do you activate it?

[Welcome to UCLA’s BruinCard](http://www.bruincard.ucla.edu)

Has any one been able to sucessfully activate their bruin card yet? I’ve tried activating it again today and now it says:

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it

^ I got the same results. “No Connection Could Be Made Because The Target Machine Actively Refused It”

so what do we do if it wont let us activate it online?
calling the office doesnt help?

It works now. At least it worked for me. I think they just fixed the problem.

At orientation, they can fix it for you. Have another ID to give them. Glad I was super paranoid and had my passport handy

its still not working for me… it keeps saying im missing information or something.
so do we have to go to their office to get it activate it during orientation?

it’s a pretty painless process to do it at orientation, it’s just a short line of people with probably the same problem and it just takes a few minutes

Today when I called their office, they actually told me there was something wrong with the site and to try again later.

Well, later my friend activated his card and so I tried to do it as well, but encountered the same “missing information” problems. I don’t know if this may help, but from what I’ve found, when I switched from firefox to internet explorer (even though my friend did his in firefox), I was able to activate my card. Hopefully this helps anyone else who may have activation problems.

^ thanks!! i tried activating it on my other computer and i used internet explorer and it totally worked!!(i was using safari before on my laptop)

so i guess all you have to do is try to activate it on another type of internet or computer! hope this made some sense. haha
