If this happens I will be dissapointed in the upperclass. I will congratulate the plebes for their success, but in my opinion this is WAY too early.

It will either be the worst kept secret or by far the biggest letdown of the year if it doesn’t happen. Suspect that plebes are afraid to say or guess anything because they truely do not want to jinx any possibility that this could happen. Best of luck 2010, hope it happens, as you deserve it. If the uniform of the day becomes boilersuits - maybe…

Whenever it happens - we want lots of pictures posted online - asap

The less you talk about it the more its likely to happen. I agree it is early but they did get their stuff done…

I’m very nervous that my plebe D will be disappointed, although she assured me that she’s not getting her hopes up. This is the last I’m say about it…I don’t want to be the cause of the jinx!! Good luck 2010!

I was speaking with a member of the class of 81 this weekend. She said that she remembers they were recognized on Feb. 10. She remembers because it was 2 days before her b’day. I’ve also heard that in the past classes have been recognized earlier. So if 2010 is recognized soon they wouldn’t be the first to do so.

Recognize 2010!! :)

won’t the mud be awfully cold??
:)

Do you have to chip the ice off he mud?

TODAY IS THE DAY!!! I just saw the Prop down by the water front covered in CYSCO lard and a battle standard on top…

KP10, please explain the significance of CYSCO lard and the standard.

Part of recognition is to climb the propeller while it is covered in lard, similar to Herndon at USNA. I’ve never heard of the battle standard being on top though, so that may be something more recent.

I still call shenanigans on getting recognized this early, maybe it’s just jealousy :)

Eric Vincent better not get hurt!

Is is cysco or Crisco? Ha ha. Congrats in order to '10

I’m so excited for these plebes!! Pictures…we want pictures!!

hope it happens soon…the suspense is killing me…Recognize 2010 now…yea

Looking at a picture of the big prop, let’s hope its the shaft and not the prop itself! All insiders sources at Kings Point are either not answering their phones or “I know nothing”. Something is probably happening outside…maybe an earthquake…or a snowstorm. or a mudstorm?

Sources inside say that it REALLY HAPPENING RIGHT NOW.

LOL! Finally someone confirmed it. I was told to stay off this site for the last 48 hours or I’ll be killed. Apparently I can’t be trusted. YAY!!! Congrats to the new Midshipmen.

PLEBES NO MORE!!!

KP10 probably meant Sysco. They are a food distributor to KP. You know… those 25 lb. cans of green beans, 50 lbs. of brown meat & yes even crisco/lard. LOL Its a happy day. I’ll try to lay my hands on some photos by tonight but don’t despair, I have a feeling the CO parent’s website will post some later on. The kids are REAL busy at the moment. I can’t imagine how cold it is or if they even care. :D

Somebody go bubble wrap Vincent!

Jamzmom…thought you were toooooo quiet…We have a tradition in my home town called the greasy pole. I grew up in a fishing town in Massachusetts. During the Portuguese Fiesta, the fishermen compete to walk across a long pole covered in grease to capture a flag at the end…this is done over water, so if they fall they go into the ocean…too cold for that at usmma, but maybe they have a land version of it
