<p>My Grandpa takes private lessons with me, teaching me how to sing religous hymns. He is in India and I’m in America, and we take lessons through Yahoo Messenger with talk. </p>

<p>Can I ask him for recomendations? Would Stanford accept that?</p>

<p>I am not sure how much weight will a rec from the grandpa carry, but you can submit it as your “extra” rec, if you think it’ll be interesting. </p>

<p>Parents often write recs for home-schooled kids, so it’s not unheard of.</p>
