Recommen me a college (bad stats)

White male
Senior in High School

GPA: ~2.5 UW
My school doesn’t weight GPA and I have taken (or am taking) 3 AP Classes. I go an A- in AP US History but couldn’t take the test for monetary reasons. I am taking AP CompSci and AP European History this year and I am sure to get an A in CompSci (our grades are 100% tests, and he lets us take every test until we get the score we want). I will probably get a 4 or a 5 on the exam (go down to ECs to find out why).

SAT: ~1900, not sure of the exact score
I did well enough on this, I’m not exactly trying to get into Harvard.

ECs: Job for 3 years
1 Year of Frosh football and 1 year of varsity football (quit to work more)
Boy scouts from K-9th grade
30 Hours of community service (Habitat for Humanity)
Active in the local Young Democrats (I’m a politics junkie)
I have been producing for local hip hop and R&B artists locally since 9th grade

Recommendations: Very strong recommendation from my APCS teacher and my AP History (Euro and US) Teacher.

Very minor thing that could help: I would be the first person in my family to go to college (including my extended family).

Major: I want to major in either Political Science or Economics and minor in the other. It is also mandatory that the college have at least intro Japanese classes because it is one thing I would love to learn as I have always been interested in.

My local state school doesn’t offer an Econ major and doesn’t have any language courses other than Spanish, French, and Latin (boooring). Anyone got any recommendations? The school doesn’t really have to be great or prestigious in any way. I would like to go to college in the Northeast, but if anyone knows of a college anywhere like this, please share! Campus doesn’t matter much to me.

Windpipe, since money was an issue for the AP tests I’m guessing you need serious financial aid. That will make it hard to go anywhere but your state schools with your current stats. Most schools do not meet financial need and those that do tend to be highly selective. You may have to focus on state schools to get started, do well and transfer.
