I am trying to make a list of colleges to apply to. I do not want to go to college out of state, so all of the colleges need to be in NC. The university needs to have a pre-physician assistant program and be academically strong. So far the only colleges on my list are ECU, UNC Chapel Hill, and UNC Wilmington. Thanks!
a little more will help like gpa, rigor of classes taken, act/sat, etc. also if you let the folks here know what you are looking for financially and for academic rigor it will help to narrow it all down.
will say though limiting yourself instate:
Duke, wake forrest, elon, high point, nc state, and davidson all come to mind,
App State? What is budget. NC has great instate tuition rates for public colleges, so if cost an issue, stick with those. You just need to look at requirements for PA programs and then look at each school to see which ones will give you the necessary pre-reqs. Like med school, the major may not matter as long as you take the right courses.
Pre-PA isn’t a major, it’s just a grouping of pre req’s. You can do those at any school… Bio, Chem, Anat & Phys, etc. Wake, Duke & Elon (probably others, but I’m not familiar enough to rec) all have PA programs so they may give preference to their undergrads when application to PA school rolls around? UNC will save you a lot of money so that’s not to be discounted. Good luck!
