Have you considered U-Toledo? Yes, it’s a 4th tier school, but they do have a major in pharmaceutical science that could lead to pharmaceutical sales, and your SATs/GPA might even give you some aid (they have a merit aid calculator on their web site). I’ve been there several times on college visits with different kids - and of all of the schools I’ve visited (probably around 35 by now…), I thought Toledo had one of the friendliest campuses. It recently affiliated with a med school, has a law school that is moving up in the rankings (Tier 3), and a pharmacy school that only accepts applicants from its own University (no transfers, which is boost to the odds of getting into the school of pharmacy). It built some great new dorms in the last two years, and has a really nice athletic center. I thought the campus was pretty even though yeah, I know it’s Toledo (not a whole lot near the campus, as a negative). It’s 1-1/2 hr or so from Detroit, which might be good for music weekends.

Don’t know if you’re thinking Southern schools only, but Capital might be a match too.
