<p>How much would a rec letter from a published author whose memoir was made into a movie help me? She also went to Columbia for her MFA. I got into a summer writing program and she was one of my teachers there and was genuinely impressed with my writing and offered to write one. I mean, I know any good rec letter will help but will this be especially good? Or just the same as any other rec letter.</p>
<p>its only as good as what she writes specifically that makes you stand out. if she’s not all that famous i dont think the fact she is writing it will make much of a difference, but the things shes saying that as you say genuinely impressed her.</p>
