Recommendation letter..

So I gave told my science teacher to write me a recommendation letter for this internship and today I got the letter…

I read it. And it sounds extremely “fake”.

IDK. Is recommendation supposed to be this way? Like everything he wrote is TRUE. But It’s TOO positive and really clich

I don’t think you’re supposed to read recommendation letters. Back to question: Yeah, I suppose most of it should be really positive, but it sounds like the teacher does not know you well enough to write a better recommendation than what you read.

I just received one of my recommendation letters to one of my math teachers for a vet internship and my math teacher really juiced it up lol. Yeah, a lot of the things she said are cliche and overly positive lol. But then again, I was one of favorite students, and we have daily conversations. Some recommendation should contain some positive feedback, but the whole letter shouldn’t sound like this:

“He/She is SO great”
“What a pleasure to have him/her in class”
“He/she is determined and never gives up!” &c.

When it gets like this you might want to talk to your teacher and the letter. I told my math and my science teacher to include some bad and good traits about me to help the veterinarian seek my strengths and better my weaknesses.

Well while I was reading it, everything he wrote is true… Like how I am constantly helping peers and coming after class for more help…

The letter didn’t state directly all those cliche statements like ^ said. It had a LOT of positive adjectives and had very bombastic wording
