Recommendation letters help

I have 2 teacher, 1 guidance, and 2 outside recommendations from 2 different college professors that I worked with in projects over summer. I want to send both the professor recommendations since I feel they are strong parts of my application but I understand most colleges don’t want more than 1 extra recommendation after your teachers and guidance consolers. Any suggestions?

The question with incremental recommendations is always whether they add something distinctive and new to your application. If they are likely to contain information that is similar to that provided by teachers and the gc, then they aren’t worth much. If they compare you favorably to a more selective group (say, all the college research assts that these profs have had), or bring out characteristics that these teachers wouldn’t be able to comment on based on your involvement at school, then it’s worth the paper. If it’s just to say that you are smart, hard-working and capable - well, surely your teachers already noted that and the letter(s) is redundant.
