<p>A community college, or another in-state public university? If you live in Wake County, Wake Tech is actually really good (and a great value). If you want to transfer in though, Appalachian is a great environment if you can stand the cold, and UNC-W is supposedly pretty easy but a lot of fun. I actually have a friend who went from Wake Tech to App and is now looking at UNC, and know someone else who flunked out of App, did a year at Wake Tech, then transferred to UNC. If you’re in-state and Chapel Hill is your ultimate goal, you can almost certainly make it work.</p>
