recommendation

is world history included in social studies?

my friend wants to take a recommendation from a world history teacher because he knows her work well. Would it be okay if she does that?

the U of C website says that:

[quote]
Teachers’ Recommendations: Forms 3A and 3B - Give these forms to teachers who know you well and can write about your strengths as a student. We ask for one recommendation from an English or social studies teacher and one from a science or mathematics teacher. A foreign language instructor may not write the English or social studies recommendation; an economics instructor may write the English or social studies recommendation, but not the science or mathematics recommendation.

Yes. History is the main subject many people think of when they hear “social studies.” In fact, many schools call history “Social Studies.” That’s what it was for me in elementary and middle school.
