Next week H and I are visiting our D and her boyfriend. They moved to Brooklyn in September after she finished grad school. They offered to let us stay with them, but their apartment is small and we’d rather get a hotel room. (We had a few negative experiences on Air B&B and don’t want to do that.)
Any recommendations for hotels in Brooklyn in the Clinton Hill area. I checked on some of the travel sites and saw a number of hotels, but was reluctant to book because the prices were low–usually under $200. Is that the going rate in this area? It’s much cheaper than Manhattan. Any recommendations for a nice hotel are welcome.
Brooklyn will be cheaper than Manhattan. I would stick to a name brand like Hilton or Marriott (or one of it’s offshoots). We visit my daughter in Boston often, and find that the December rates are some of the lowest of the year. The same room that is $350 in July, is only $100 in December. This might contribute to the low rates you are finding.
My husband loved https://www.hotellebleu.com/ He wants to go back with me because he said it’s very romantic. All the interior walls in the room, including the bathroom, are glass and the view is beautiful.
I noticed it received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
He did say the parking can be difficult, but that’s not unusual, ha.

For me NOTHING would kill the romance faster than all glass walled bathrooms. Lol.
My favorite hotel is in Williamsburg called the William Vale. https://www.thewilliamvale.com/ My son lives in Brooklyn and we visit him every couple of months and stay at the William Vale. It really makes our stay so enjoyable.
For Clinton Hill I wouldn’t recommend the William Vale unless you want to be in a completely different neighborhood. Check out the hotels in and near Metro Tech. I know there is an Aloft, a Hampton Inn, and a Sheraton in the vicinity. From there it’s a 10-15 minute walk to Clinton Hill (my kids love there and in Fort Greene. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk specific locations. Also, the William Vale is a hip, cool hotel and much more expensive than the others that tend to cater to business people in Brooklyn. Full disclosure, I live in the metro area and don’t stay in hotels in Brooklyn but know many who do.
