<p>My daughter is a sophomore and is living in a suite which includes a microwave oven provided by the college. They are not allowed to have a toaster oven or hot plate. I am thinking of purchasing a microwave/convection oven combo for the suite. Does anyone have experience with such a purchase and any recommendations for a specific brand? Does such an appliance work well for cooking foods as one would with an oven? My daughter would love the option of making dinner some nights in the suite rather than going to the dining hall. Thanks for any advice or information.</p>
<p>The ones you might consider for a college dorm don’t work well enough to be useful. Don’t they have some kitchen access somewhere?</p>
<p>A convection oven is a real oven. If a dorm room doesn’t allow a toaster oven, they will certainly not allow a real oven.</p>
