Recommendations on where to go to college.

Hi, I’m a first time CC poster and currently a senior in high school, applying to colleges for next year and I was hoping to gain some insight on different schools. I intend to major in Sports Management, but am not sure where exactly would be a good fit for me. I’ve applied to a few schools around New England so far: Suffolk University, Southern New Hampshire University, Johnson & Wales University and New Hampshire Technical Institute.

Out of New England I’ve applied to Coastal Carolina University and Columbia College of Chicago.

I think the biggest dilemma I’m having is not knowing if I want to venture outside New England to another part of the US. I’m interested in maybe going south (Florida or South Carolina area) or possibly out west.

I don’t have great stats ( 2.7 GPA, SAT 600 CR, 420 Math and 440 Writing) but great teacher recommendations, EC activities, and ambition.

You could use one of the search engines that will allow you to look for colleges/universities with your major to find more places in different parts of the country. Try using:
[College MatchMaker - Type of School](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board)

After this pulls up a list of schools, you can enter your stats, and the list will be whittled down to include places that are likely to admit you based on your numbers.

If you liked the Johnson & Wales U near you, you could also consider any of their other campuses that offer your major. You should be able to take a semester at the other campus(es) without too much trouble if you want to try out a different part of the country for a while.

Good luck!
