UChicago says you need one humanities rec and one science/math rec. Does a linguistics or cultural anthro class at a community college count toward the latter? They’re :social: sciences…

I don’t think it counts.

Of course, one can send in more than two recommendations (at least I did, as a homeschooler). I would definitely have that community college prof write you one, though, so three recommendations makes sense.

they dont care, my english teacher filled out my humanities rec. and my government teacher filled out my “science” rec. As long as you have two good recs you’re fine.

I think I would choose linguistics.

What counts as humanities?

And I have to voice a no on whether ling or cult. anthro counts as science. Just turn in more than 2.

“We ask for one recommendation from an English or social studies teacher and one from a science or mathematics teacher… an economics instructor may write the English or social studies recommendation, but not the science or mathematics recommendation.”

That’s what it says on their website.

Niomi,
call or e-mail your regional admissions rep and ask …
