Recommendations regarding academic teacher

<p>I understand that colleges would like to see recommendations from academic teachers, but is it alright if I send one from an academic teacher and another one from say, a journalism teacher? They both taught me for two semesters. Schools that I’m going to send two Recs are Case Western, Duke, Oxford Scholars Program, Emory Scholars Program, Vandy, and UGA Scholarship.</p>

<p>Also, there is one retired counselor who would like to write me recommendations. Are 3 recs too much for any of the schools above?</p>

<p>I talked to a Case Western Rep recently and he explained that the best Recs for them are the ones from people that know you the most. Plus a journalism teacher is still a teacher. For the 3 recs, Case said they don’t mind having 3, but if you have like 6 (which is pretty darn crazy), they most probably won’t even read all of them.</p>
