<p>Do most people get recommendations from their junior year teachers? I ask this question because I am considering asking my English teacher from 10th grade to write a recommendation, and was just wondering if that was a common practice.</p>
<p>it is generally better for 11th grade teacher (and maybe 12th grade teacher if RD). For MIT, there is really no “rules”, but some other schools have restrictions. So you might want to check those so you give the teacher at your school less work.</p>
<p>It’s best to use a teacher who knows you best- which actually might make the 10th grade teacher a better candidate, especially if you somehow maintained contact with them through junior year (via clubs, for example).</p>
