Hey this is just a quick question. I’m a High school senior who is filling out a supplement application. Within this application, it asks for the title of each recommender (two in total). I’m not too sure what to put there. I tried searching it up, but most all of the answers that I read said to put titles like “Professor” or “Associate Professor”. All of these answers were for graduate students who already went to college, so non of them apply to me. If it helps, one of my recommenders is a Physics teacher who has a Phd in Physics. The other recommender is a regular math teacher. What should (or what can I) I put as their title? Thank you in advance.
Likely you need to put nothing. Forms often ask for titles in case judges, doctors, elected officials get addressed. They don’t want to create needless slights. THis is nothing to be concerned about.
I agree with @T26E4 . That said, if the recommender has a Ph.D., you won’t go wrong with Dr. Id s/he does not have a doctorate Mr./Miss/Ms./Mrs. is fine. While Miss Manners may disagree, she won’t be reading your application.
Alright. Thank you
