Hello, son got into penn state Altoona but wanted university park. I have read and spoken to admissions about the reconsideration request option. Going to do that but they said he should pick bother major. He got into the psychology-college of liberal arts program at Altoona. He wants to possibly be a neurologist or psychiatrist in the future. He was going to pick “sciences (undecided)” as a new major. That is a program in the Eberly college of science. Since he only gets to ask for reconsideration one time is that a good enough major to change to or is there one better that can get him into university park. Thank you.

There has been a number of posts about reconsideration.
My son did not get in Undecided UP so is trying psychology AB. (He got 2+2 Harrisburg)
Did you include summer start? That can help for admissions. His stats are 4.03 weighted and 1310 SAT
Do you have any sense of what percent of kids that try for reconsideration get it? Also my son thought it said after he resubmitted that it will be his last chance. After that you can’t try for UP again. You only can to switch to another branch. Makes sense I guess. He has 4.03 weighted and 1310 SAT and is trying now for Psych AB (he took AP Psych and Positive Psych in HS) and open to summer start
Has he taken bio/chem/physics with As? Any science APs and if so what grades/scores did he get?
What about his math SAT score? Has he taken precalculus or calculus?
Science/undecided would require a strong STEM profile.
He could also apply to Anthropological Sciences with a Premed intent.
