Thank you so much . Yes she wrote a letter but didn’t particularly mention the psychology . Now she cannot write anymore . The school counselor said just to wait and watch . Please pray for her everyone . I am sure prayers will make a difference .
Many colleges and universities will specifically ask a student to explain a drop in grades. It’s how the student explains it and what they plan to do about it that can make a difference. I’ve worked with students in this situation and we see students here asking for advice about what to say in such letters.
She already wrote the letter and mentioned that due to the home environment she has depression and it made her grades drop . She also mentioned that if she lives in the campus far from home she will work hard and improve her grades. She specified programs that will help her in the college and also pleaded to give her a chance . Does this seem okay .
I might have suggested using a more ambiguous term like “difficulties” (rather than depression) but the letter sounds fine overall. And more importantly, the letter has been sent so it is time to move forward.
I wish you and your daughter well and hope you can come back with a happy update.
If she gets into this dream college of hers it will definitely help her improve her mental health and progress well . I hope all goes well and she gets accepted soon .
