Record Applicants

Seems as though UR has received a record high applicant pool, with 8,500 applicants. It also appears as though the school has targeted a class of 805. Based on historical yields, I would imagine an acceptance rate between 28-33%.

[Record High](http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/01/24/AR2010012401624.html?hpid=topnews)

If applied around October but regular admission, will they still notify you as late as March-April admission?

Yes, all regular decision applicants are mailed their letter on the same date (or plus or minus a day or so).

I’m thinking UR will not be anxious to repeat last year’s over-enrollment and will err on the side of taking dozens of students from the wait list. That will push the initial acceptance rate to the 28% end of spider05’s range.

is this for early decision or regular decision?

28-30% should be the overall acceptance rate.
