Recordings

Anyone know where to find hard to find musicals? I don’t want the audio recording I want the actual musical. S is Benjy Stone in My Favorite Year this April. I can’t find a DVD or recording of it, maybe there aren’t any?

@MTMajorCook 1 cd left right now on Amazon or you can download it and the DVD is there too.

We have borrowed zillions of original/revival cast CDs and even some musical scores/sheet music from our library system. Have had harder time with DVDs of the actual musicals, not all were recorded on film/video.

I don’t think the musical was recorded other than on a CD, you can find DVDs of the play with Peter O’Toole and Richard Benjamin on amazon but not the musical version other than the original cast recording.
Congrats to your son on the great role!

I can’t seem to find that DVD halflokum.

Cellomom thanks, he’s excited what a great way to wrap up his High School Musical “career”. I will likely lose it the last time he sings “My Favorite Year”

Off to watch it on youtube lol

@MTMajorCook, I’m not sure why not. I found it again no problem. I’d give you the link but I don’t think I’m supposed to do that. Search on My Favorite Year DVD and it will appear. You could also try My Favorite Year (1982) since that is the header. Or throw Peter O’Toole’s name in there. It should work. Spendy @ $41 but you can also download it for $9.99 or rent it for $1.99. Usually those rentals last about a month so that would probably be a cheap option. Good luck!

PS: I’m talking about the movie version of it from which the Broadway play was adapted. I assume that is what you mean. There isn’t a DVD of the actual Broadway version to my knowledge.
