My son is a 660m and 610v, 3.5 plus gpa 23 year old who has been in almost 3 years of rehabs, halfway and sober houses because of his very serious drug addiction. Now he is going to meetings every 7 am and hopefully building a record of staying clean.

He wants to go back to school and restart his college career. He also is learning that he needs to live in a housing situation with other recovering addicts.

What information is available about the Rutgers program and who should I contact. Thanks

Sounds like a complicated situation. Is your son looking to enroll full-time or partime? Your son’s academic performance would qualify for admission. But it’s not likely that many people on this forum will have valid advise for you. I would contact the Rutgers Colege admission office directly to start the ball rolling. I believe each of the colleges (Rutgers, Livingston, Douglas, University College) have their own admissions office. But I would go directly to them to discuss this.

Your son’s best bet is University College. It is the easiest to graduate from. And as a University college student you can still get on-campus housing. University college will take up to 60 credits from Community colleges, and you can actually go to rutgers and a comm college to fulfull graduation requirements.

We are now talking to a few colleges for admission for fall semester 2005 because they some open space for recovering people. Thanks for all the assistance. He has been given another opportunity.
