How much does being recruited help in the admission process, assuming I have decent stats (4.0 GPA, 1540 SAT, 800 SATII)?

It will help as much as being excellent at any other extracurricular activity – which is to say, it’s a good thing, but not a sure thing.

if the school is part of nli…then once you sign, you’re in

Well, MIT is division III, so “recruited” doesn’t exactly mean the same thing at MIT as it does at division I schools.

Being recruited at MIT means you fill out [this form](http://web.mit.edu/athletics/www/varsity.html), and the coach of your sport can submit a recommendation letter to be added to your admissions file.

So nothing like a letter of intent.
Just a way to show that you’re totally psyched about an extracurricular.

thanks = ]
