Yh, I was just wondering about this, since some ppl on the forum seem to think it diminishes your chances to get into a good school.

Neither good nor bad… the final score really is what influences admission, not how many times you’ve taken it.

Yah that’s true… if you improve from test to test it is definitely OK to retake them.

it’s good. you can’t expect to get the highest score with the first shot. it’s much better though if you give your first SATs ( I and II ) when you are in your junior year because you will have the chance to improve your score and at the same time colleges won’t care much about your first score.

it doesn’t matter how many times you take it

If you’re aiming for elite schools, retaking recurrently would somehow harm.

Try to minimize your official SATs and practice a lot from prep material and books. Don’t go to the test center every now and then to improve 20 points.
