Redundancy?

<p>Common App:
150 word essay on EC is about Volunteering
Main essay (evaluate an experience) is about an experience during volunteering.</p>

<p>Too much on one topic? I’ll talk about academics in supplements, but I was just wondering whether there is any redundancy with those two topic choices or do they complement each other? I might swap the 150 word essay to a business competition, but its not as important/I didn’t actually spend so much time on it.
(btw the volunteering is not related to any intellectual interests)</p>

<p>Does it matter, it should be okay as long as it’s an interesting essay right?</p>

<p>Well the whole point of the essay is for the admissions officers to get a more whole picture of you as a person, so logic would dictate that they preferably should be on two different areas of your life.</p>
