I got a referral for ordering UberEats to my school… will that affect colleges and will my parents know about this?
You will be good. If you are straight up to your parents about this they shouldn’t be mad unless this is a repeating occurrence. I honestly can’t blame you because the food at public schools is generally disgusting.
As long as it wasn’t delivered to your classroom like Spicoli’s pizza. Although schools might take a dim view of nonstudents showing up on campus.
I don’t think there is much to worry about though.
@ashley2541 it depends on how your school reports it. At my D school the parents will be notified and it will be part of the disciplinary record reported to colleges. The school doesn’t want strangers on campus that haven’t gone thru the office and been background checked. But more importantly it clearly states in the student handbook that students are not to exit campus during the day for any reason unless they sign out in the office. Therefore going out to the parking lot to retrieve food is a violation of that policy. ( they kind of treat it as if you were skipping school)
Now if its one incidence the college may not care. That being said you may want to check with your counselor and see what your schools policy is in regards to reporting this and it being on your permanent record.
