I don’t know what SIR is, but her college counselor checked out the BU offer and it didn’t run afoul of anything. I think “accepting” it just means to keep the option active. Apparently transfer applications are onerous, and this offer meant she has a guaranteed transfer her sophomore year without the application. Initially she decided to keep that option open when Northeastern Oakland was the only offer, and afterwards she thought - why not? I don’t think she will exercise the option but she doesn’t have to do anything with it for now.
