Do you know if it’s possible to get a refund on the Transportation Access Fee?

I think the fee is mandatory for all students.

“All students will be assessed a per credit hour fee paid with their tuition to cover their parking and transportation needs. Students with vehicles may obtain their parking permit at no additional charge on-line at FSU Parking and Transportation Services.”

It’s in place for paying for parking permits (across the board) and the campus bus system. The university suspects that you either use one or the other regularly (or both).

I don’t think there’s anyway to get around it. Unless you decided to withdraw from the university before a certain date, I doubt that you will be able to get a refund.

That’s what I don’t get. I don’t use the bus nor the parking system, so I don’t really see reason that justifies forcing me to pay the transportation fee.

Well there are many government programs that we don’t benefit from, but yet we still must pay taxes towards them.

I suspect that there will be times that it will be pouring outside, or cold, and you will be glad you can take a bus. The fee is so that there can be parking lots and parking garages and buses for you to use, whether you use them or not. Unfortunately, it is part of your tuition and you won’t be able to get a refund.

the fee also helps pay for NightNole (the night bus which frequently takes students back from the Strip and other areas). So even if you don’t normally use it during the day you might end up using it at night.
