Ughhhh… Today my application to the science program changed to “Refused- Ltd. Space Available”

My midyear report got sent in really really late because my guidance office *****ed up… Is this why? Or was this a flat out rejection… I was really expecting to get in, especially after seeing who else at my school got accepted.

Nope, that’s a rejection. Aw that’s sad
It’s because too many people applied. But I’d still try calling them and seeing what happened…

If you still had a chance, I think they would have said “Waitlisted”…

I’m not wondering whether or not I still have a chance… I’m just wondering if the rejection was the fault of the late-midyear… It sounds like they may have filled up the class before they got to review my full application… but maybe not… I just want to know, and calling doesn’t give me a straight answer

That wouldn’t surprise me. I think they’re a lot like UMich, the earlier you apply and get everything in, the better chances you have. I know at UMich, if you don’t apply before the early action deadline, it’s like impossible to get in. It wouldn’t surprise me if that late midyear hurt your chance at getting in.

What program did you apply for BTW?

Faculty of Science

Because it’s Science, which is a large faculty, I would blame the report on being late. (Normally, I’d blame it on being under-qualified, but you know people who were less qualified and accepted, and I don’t have any reason to doubt you.)
It definitely sounds like they filled the class before getting to you.
