I’m applying for transfer this coming November, and to keep things short, my essential inquiry is this :
I currently have a 3.90 UC GPA, and will have completed all of my Philosophy majors reqs by the end of this fall (hopefully maintaining a 4.0 Major GPA), however, I am currently taking honors Astronomy, which is managing to give me an extremely rough time. Getting a B or even a C would dunk my GPA at, or below a 3.88 UC GPA, so, considering the circumstance, would it be in my interest to apply with a 4.0 Philosophy GPA with all reqs done, alongside a ~3.93 UC GPA with a W in H Astro, or take the risk and let my GPA potentially dunk to about a 3.88.
This would be my first W, and would be the only area of the IGETC I would still need to complete. In Spring I plan to take Bio with Lab to fulfill the 2nd criterion of the Science section, but, if I drop, I would simply add another science course to my spring schedule to satisfy the 1st criterion, preferably that of Anthropology.
Many thanks to you.
What makes you so certain that you won’t end up with a B or even a C in one of the science classes next spring?
That does not necessarily touch the nature of the question, but since you ask, I don’t definitively know what grade I’ll receive in spring, it may be a B, or a C, or even an A.
The nature of the question wasn’t so much concerned, nor did I state that I am certain of the grade I would receive in spring, my inquiry is essentially central to the aim of trying to maximize my chances for transfer.
Being able to get some opinions on the course of action was essentially to gage the potential effects, and garner an idea of what can increase my transfer odds.
Now, I do not know what the agreement would be if I am granted acceptance, so, I do not know the GPA/Grades the university would want, but if I were to make an inference about the coming spring in relation to these science course, although I do not definitively know in what margin I would score, I would imagine that having an eased course load in comparison to my current course load would surely help my academics.
Thank you.
Bumping in hopes of acquiring some more perspective on my inquiry.
Thanks.
