Regional Campuses

I see many colleges that offer regional campuses in other areas of the state in which they reside–are regional campuses typically the same academically as the parent school?

No. Generally speaking it’s less competitive to get into a satellite campus.

Some choose to go to a regional campus for a year or two then attempt to transfer to main campus.

Regional campuses do not offer the same academic or social experience that the main campus offers.

In some part, these were established to make education more accessible. It’s entirely possible a satellite has strong programs in one’s area of interest, despite overall being less competitive. I’m thinking of certain art depts, education majors, semi-technical, etc. So, it depends.
