Regional University for free or Ohio State University?

I am currently going to a regional university for free and living at home. My expected graduation rate is May 2016. I am considering transferring to Ohio State. I have a 3.9 GPA and a 31 on the ACT. If I go to OSU I would expect to have to wait an extra semester to graduate (Winter 2016) because some of my CLEP and high school credits may not transfer or I need to take additional classes. It would cost me about 15K (+housing) if I transferred for three semesters. Is it worth it? My current University has essentially no reputation

It may matter what your major and post-graduation goals are. In some cases, prestige or reputation matters a lot, while in other cases, prestige or reputation matters little.

I’m with UCB on this. Think seriously about your post-graduation objectives. Have grads from your current university had success in the areas that you are hoping to? If so, then take the money that you would otherwise spend on another school, and use it instead to start a business later, or to go to grad school.
