Register or go standby (waiting for results to determine if retaking)

I may want to retake the SAT, but it depends upon my scores which are released on the 20th. Problem is the registration deadline for the next test is the 19th. Do I risk wasting the fee by signing up and not taking the test, or risk my ability to take it, if necessary, by standby testing?

Advice?

Well really it’s up to you; is the risk worth it? We might think differently.

chance of losing 40$ vs. chance of waiting till October.

You should not retake the SAT that fast.

If you find out that you had a low score, you will be taking the SAT out of frustration and not because you are fully prepared.

Take the grade you get and study and improve for October.

I think risking your money is smarter. You can always earn that money later but you won’t have the chance to take the SAT before October.

i agree with omgmit.

Yep, thanks guys. I signed up.
