How can you register for 5.0 credits as a freshman? I think someone mentioned that you have to wait until after a certain date or do I need to ask permission from academic dean to do so?

If I were you I’d just wait till we meet with our advisors during orientation. It’s not like you can have 5 credits in your bookbag/be enrolled in 5 credits right now anyway.

i am pretty positive that you can’t ever register for 5.0 credits as a first semester freshman. second semester you can, but you have to wait until all registration windows have closed to add your fifth credit.

The blue book it says 4.5 max credit for freshman 1st semester and 5.5 for freshman 2nd semester (if you’re in trinity). But I guess you can petition for exception :)

I took 5.0 credits my first semester freshman year so it is definitely logistically doable. You have to wait until drop/add during the first week of classes and get permission from your premajor dean to increase your enrollment limit on ACES from 4.5 to 5.0.

You can always try to register for the extra course after all the windows have opened (which is now I think) or wait until drop/add starts in august. The worst thing that can happen is that you’ll be asked to remove it by your dean.

Alright, thanks for all the info guys!
