Hey everyone,
I’m entering this fall and will be attending (hopefully) FASET 6 and had a few questions.
I’ve done quite of a bit of AP exams and dual enrollment college classes. Is there someone we can talk with to make sure we select the right classes while we’re up there? How do we actually ‘get’ the correct credits counted? What needs to happen?
Also, are students who go to FASET 6 at a disadvantage in terms of which classes/times/professors they want considering they register pretty much last?

Provided you have sent all your scores to Tech, when you come to FASET you will be notified of all your AP scores and credit before registration. You will also meet with advisers for your major to help you determine what classes to take. There is no disadvantage to coming to a later FASET in terms of getting your classes. There will be just as many spots in Calc II open at FASET 6 as at FASET 1. Sometimes you may not be able to get the time or professor you want but they usually fix this by opening up new slots in each professors class at each FASET. (Large classes are split into sections and sections open up on a rolling basis so that people registering earlier do not have a huge advantage). Don’t worry too much about attending a later FASET. You cannot see the professors for Math classes anyway, as they recently stopped releasing that information until after Phase I registration because everyone wanted the same professors.

In short: Stop worrying. You will be fine attending any FASET.

If you’ve already submitted the classes for credit to Tech, you can also try to pull your transcript on OSCAR (not sure when they make this available for new students). If you’re granted credit for Math 1501, for instance, that will show on your transcript with a grade of “T” (for transfer - it doesn’t affect your GPA but does change your number of credit hours completed).

Thanks for the info. Wasn’t quite sure how it worked but that cleared it up.
