Registering For Classes (LSP)

Hey! I’m an incoming LSP student and I have some questions. I recently got a letter from NYU to look over the courses that I should be taking next year, but they did not clarify whether or not I should start registering. When do you actually start registering? Do you wait for some materials to come in the mail?

Also, for LSP students, it’s true that all your classes are set already (Writing I, Cultural etc.) but how many electives can you take without killing yourself? I see that the required classes for a a freshman already has 24 points for a whole year. Should you take any more classes, or will that only stress out the workload?

LSP students register in August, you will receive forms in the mail with specific instructions - don’t worry about it til then.

NYU students (across all schools) generally take 4 classes (16-18 credits) per semester, if you want 5 or more classes, you must pay extra tuition. 1st semester you will take Writing I, Cultural Foundations I, and Social Foundations I, and 2nd semester you take part II of those courses.

You get 1 elective per semester, which may be in LSP or CAS (or whatever school you applied to). The LSP electives suck, so try to take CAS classes, there’s a LOT more choices.

We’re allowed to register for classes starting June 1st. The instructions on what classes to register for and how to register is on the LS Website under announcements.

Alexa is correct. Class of '13 registration will be online. Materials are here:
