I’ve signed up for the first orientation session in the summer (high school senior now coming in fall 2012) on June 6-8. I’ve read that you can register for classes on the last day. My concern is that AP results won’t be available until July 1st at the earliest and this could be problematic for class registration.

Specifically, I am most concerned with Calculus. I anticipate having a 5 on Calc BC (and taking credit for Calc I and II) and I doubt they would let me register for Calc III with no AP score.

How does this typically work? Would I just wait until AP scores are out and then sign up for Calc III?

This is a question that gets multiple times every year. You’ll just have to take your best guess at what your scores will be and register accordingly. A lot of the time, pre-reqs don’t get checked/enforced until the 1st week of school so you should be able to register for Diff-Eq (M427K) without your credit. However, it is pretty rare for a freshman to go straight into Diff-Eq. Most with credit for BC go back and take Calc II (M408D) and some even go back to Calc I (bad idea if you passed the BC exam).
