Registering for Classes

So, registration starts tomorrow morning. Is it going to be a mad scene at 10 am? Do labs and other small classes fill that quickly? Any advice about the best way to go about the whole process?

bump… where did it say 10am

In the registration packet it said 10AM eastern.

So, one thing you have to keep in mind is that the upperclassmen have already registered so many of the smaller classes are already partially full. That’s why they fill up so fast. Find out which ones of the classes you want have no limit and which ones only have limited seats left. Then make sure you try to get into the classes that are limited first. Also make sure you have the course number and backup choices for all of your classes.

…so I add my first class, submit, then add my second one, etc? Or do I type in all 4 classes and then submit?

Sorry to ask so many questions! Can’t wait 'til I’m registered so I can relax and just get excited for the rest of the summer!

are you all registering for fall and spring? i honestly don’t know what to take besides intro classes so i think i’ll probably wait until i speak to my advisor? :frowning: any ideas?

Don’t wait! Your advisor might not even talk to you until after registration is complete. What are you thinking about majoring in?

To give you an example, I’m majoring in international relations and Latin American studies so first semester I’m taking intro to international relations, intro to econ, Spanish, my USEM, and either a Latin American history class or PE… not sure yet.

If you want to be a science major (especially anything that requires chem), you should probably take a class with a lab.

i know which classes i want to take in the fall (basically all yours minus the spanish )… but i don’t know about spring… If I am going in the direction of econ, the registration packet recommends classes to take after the intros, but i don’t think i’m going to sign up for 4 or 5 economics classes in spring… i’ll only be taking 1 or 2 (isn’t that the norm?) so i don’t know what classes to take to fill up my spring schedule…

You don’t register for the spring until the spring. This is only fall registration. So don’t worry about it. :)

Good luck at getting the classes you want, you guys!

ah good… thanks~~

So… everyone make out ok?

Got everything I wanted/needed. Thanks to everyone for their help!!!

^ Ditto_______!

Just out of curiosity, what are you guys taking?

I’ve got intro to econ, intro to IR, social movements in Latin America, and my USEM. The code I got for Spanish is wrong so I’m trying to work that out, but if it doesn’t work out I’m taking either Latin American politics I or beginning Russian if it’s still open.
