Registering for classes

I’m superr confused…
I got accepted after the SIR deadline because of my appeal, so I’ve always felt kind of off or behind on all the UCSC information.

I’m going to the orientation on the 22nd and I’m planning on registering for classes there, but from the looks of it, is it possible to just register online right now? I hope this is not the case, because by the 22nd I’m sure I will get last picks on classes

Orientation is the soonest time freshmen can register. Those who don’t fork out for it have to wait 'til August.

Yeah don’t worry. I had noooooooooo idea what to do etc. So as long as you make it to orientation, they’ll explain everything, no worries.

Dude my orientation is on the 28, if you get last picks on classes then what do i get?

coolfarts:
That’s why the first day filled up so quickly. The earlier you go to orientation, the better the selection. Although it still isn’t that great.

Oh man, i didn’t even think of that. I barely signed up last week thinking what difference does it make if i get the first or last day but yeaaa now i see im screwed.

It’s alright.

We’re all pretty much in the same boat.

on orientation schedule i dont recall anything about schedule picking? i thought it was just a campus tour that kinda thing.

“Enroll in some or all of your fall classes”

Most of the day is BS and kind of a waste of money, but you take your ID picture, pick classes, and they try to explain the whole general ed system. Tell your parents to bring a camera because sometimes they let the parents tour the dorms. This is important because I had NO idea how small a small double was until I moved in. If you’re like me and you have a lot of stuff and/or with a fear of heights, it’s good to prepare yourself.

By the way, small doubles are really, really small.

^What does height have to do with a small double?

They have those in Merrill so i hope i don’t get one. Well actually it would be better than a single.

They have lofted beds. And why would it be better than a single??
