registering for classes

Anyone else get waitlisted for classes you need to take? Anyone know how this gets resolved?

Which classes were waitlisted? If physics, don’t stress- Trousil will personally go through the waitlists in the next few days/week.

Several of the basic eng. classes purposely use waitlists so that freshmen can get in (and then go through the waitlists to weed out sophomores.

Physics and CAD

Depends on which 197 section. If your son is ~#70 on the waitlist for section 2, he’s probably not going to get in. If he’s in the top half, there’s a really good chance to get in. Sections 1 and 3 look like everyone on the waitlist will get in.
(If it’s 117 it probably won’t be a problem)

CAD is hit and miss- I know a handful of people who got in off the waitlist last year.

Most of the waitlist issues are due to someone not wanting to take a 9am or 5pm class (can’t blame them for that…)

33 for 197 section 2, #4 for physics lab, and #3 for CAD. I really hope he gets in them all because otherwise his schedule will be a real mess!

Unless they completely change the enrollment quota since there are 3 sections this year, #33 should definitely get in. (There were over 100 enrolled in both sections last year once Trousil had gone through the waitlist).

Chances are he’ll get the phys lab (they fit 16-17), but he may just have to suck it up and take a later lab (last fall I had to take a 4-6:30). Either way, the labs typically don’t last the full time period. I only used the full 2.5 hours once, and that was in the spring. Most people just collect their data and scram within an hour.
